Hanna Makowski, a graduate student from the Galloway lab, was just awarded the Rosemary Grant Advanced Award. This grant is used to expand students' dissertation work, by allowing them to conduct more experiments or field work.
Hanna received the reward for her proposal entitled "The role of mating system in colonization". This award will allow her to conduct experiments with C. americana in the summer, setting up experimental colonizing populations of high and low self-reproducing populations in order to determine the benefit of self-reproducing in colonization.
Congrats Hanna!
