The researchers from the Bergland lab recently published a gigantic paper in Molecular Biology and Evolution. In this paper, they develop a bioinformatics pipeline that maps sequence readings from D. melanogaster to a hologenome. This paper introduces the largest repository of genomic data available for D. melanogaster to date: 271 population samples, 100 locations, 20+ countries on 4 continents.
